The Open Source is a raising phenomenon is the software world.
But is O.S. better than other models? And why?
I think it is because having the source code can allow you to make particular customizations you need without wasting time in contacts and contracts with a 3rd party; it’s better because you can exactly understand how an application, a component or whatever else is implemented, discover its limits or bugs, fix them, make a deeper test and many other things.

As a practical reply, I’m currently involved in different projects and I can state for sure that the usage of Open Source software deeply shortened our development and testing time.

But beside every consideration, why pay for something you can have for free (and you get a better product in my opinion…)?
